Hertfordshire women compete annually in the East Region Inter‐County Match Week, playing each of the other five counties - Bedfordshire, Essex, Cambs & Hunts, Suffolk, Norfolk.
The format for each match is two foursomes and three singles, all played off scratch and the winner of the most matches wins 2 points.
The winners of the East Region Inter‐County Match Week progress to the England County Finals and play the winners of the five other England regions during the course of three days in September. The format of each match is the same as that of the East Region Inter‐County Match Week, all played off scratch.
County Match Week was hosted this year by Essex at Stoke-by-Nayland GC 17-20th June 2021
Hertfordshire had a strong squad this year, captained by Denise Fiori. As the winners of the regional event, they now go on to the finals to be played at Denham in September.
How it all happened
DAY 1 FRIDAY
AM - The morning's match saw Hertfordshire lined up against Suffolk. Result Suffolk 3 - Hertfordshire 2.
PM - In the second round of matches on Friday afternoon, they started strong against Cambs and Hunts but torrential rain meant that play had to be suspended.
DAY 2 SATURDAY
AM Golf resumed at 8.00 am on Saturday and the match v Cambs and Hunts finished as a draw 2.5 - 2.5.
